Bad Eating Habits: The Permanent Solution

FAQ #4: Bad Eating Habits from food addictions, temptations, and triggers are covered in the recovery phase of the Permanent Weight Loss program.

A. Answering the Question

Let's deal with the hows, before we get into the solution.

How did I get so many food addictions?

Fad diets in the mainstream fail for many reasons. One of biggest problems is that they frequently do not address the underlying addictions to unhealthy foods. Unless you make the necessary behavioral changes in your life to:

  • reduce,
  • control, or
  • eliminate the trigger foods,

you won't be successful at long term weight loss nor at breaking the bad eating habits.

How do I get rid of the bad eating habits?

Behavioral Changes: It is now known that psychological factors and behavioral changes play a significant role in weight gain and loss. In light of this fact, the following issues are addressed early on in the Recovery phase of the Permanent Weight Loss program:

  1. Positive attitude
  2. Self-acceptance
  3. Overeating due to feelings of sadness, anger, stress, boredom, or hunger
  4. Emotional eating due to unresolved emotional issues
  5. Ending of food temptations
  6. Reduction and/or elimination of trigger foods

Food addictions, temptations, and triggers are covered in the appointments of the Recovery phase, which is the first phase of the program, so as not to undermine the gains that are made later on in the program.

"There is absolutely no substitute for greens in the diet! If you refuse to eat these sunlight energy foods, you are depriving yourself, to a larger degree, of the very essence of life." ... by H.G. Kirschener
